Severe Thunderstorm Warning Expires For Anne Arundel, PG Counties
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties; it has expired.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for five Maryland counties, including Anne Arundel and Prince George's. The warning is in effect until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Areas in the warning are:
- Southern Anne Arundel County
- St. Marys County
- Calvert County
- Southeastern Prince Georges County
- Southeastern Charles County
At 11:52 a.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Dunkirk to near Loretto, moving northeast at 75 mph. The warning says 60 mph wind gusts are possible; damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

Communities in the thunderstorm warning include: Lexington Park, Chesapeake Ranch Estates, Chesapeake Beach, Deale, Leonardtown, Prince Frederick, Piney Point, Tall Timbers, Greenwell State Park, Hallowing Point, Saint Leonard Creek, Breezy Point, Town Creek, Wicomico River, White Point Beach, Cuckold Creek, Sheridan Point, Calvert Cliffs, Saint Clements Bay and Flag Harbor.
Residents should remain alert for a possible tornado, which can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. Get indoors to protect yourself from wind and lightning. Trees around you may be downed from damaging winds, so if you are near large trees, move to an interior room on the lowest floor. Don't drive underneath trees or in wooded areas until the threat has passed.
