Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Bowie, Anne Arundel County
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Bowie and Anne Arundel County Monday evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for portions of Anne Arundel County and parts of Prince George's County, including Bowie. The warning expires at 7:45 p.m. ET.
At 6:50 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was moving along a line from near Elkridge to near Fort Meade to Lanham at 20 mph.
Forecasters warned of possible 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. Expect wind damage to trees and powerlines.

Communities in the warning area include: Bowie, Severn, Annapolis, Crofton, Riviera Beach, Mayo, US Naval Academy, Baltimore-Washington Aiport, Glen Burnie, Severna Park, Odenton, Pasadena, Arnold and Lake Shore.
A severe thunderstorm by definition is a thunderstorm that produces 1-inch hail or larger in diameter and/or winds equal or exceed 58 miles an hour. During the watch, people should review severe thunderstorm safety rules and be prepared to move a place of safety if threatening weather approaches.
