Severn Teen Shot On Annapolis Street: Police

A Severn teenager who fled the sound of gunshots was hit by a bullet, Annapolis Police say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A Severn teenager who fled the sound of gunshots was hit by a bullet Wednesday night on Newtowne Drive, Annapolis Police say. An officer patrolling the area on foot heard gunshots about 11:35 p.m.; when police reached the 700 block of Newtowne Drive they didn't find a victim.

A few minutes later police were notified that a shooting victim had arrived at an area hospital. The victim, a 16-year-old male from Severn, was shot in the leg.

He told police he was walking in the area when he heard gunshots, started to run and was struck in the leg. No suspects were located.
