Shady Side Robbery Suspect In Jail Again

The man accused of mugging an elderly shopper at a Churchton is now charged with swiping money from a man at an Annapolis business.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A Shady Side man arrested last week for robbing an elderly shopper at Christopher’s Fine Foods in Churchton is in jail again, this time for allegedly robbing a customer in an Annapolis store.

Alfred Sugg, 20, of Shady Side was charged Tuesday morning with a robbery that occurred Dec. 2 in the 1900 block of Fairfax Road. A man was standing in line to make a purchase at the business about 8:45 a.m. last week when Sugg came up behind him and grabbed money out of his hands, say Annapolis Police.

Detectives identified Sugg as the suspect and charged him with robbery, second-degree assault, theft less than $100 and attempted theft less than $100.

Sugg is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $25,000 bond on these charges.

On Saturday, Sugg reportedly knocked a 75-year-old woman down in the parking lot of the Churchton store and stole her purse. Sugg then jumped into a car driven by Eric James MacKay, 22, of Shady Side, and the pair fled the scene.
