A day after this Anne Arundel County councilman announced his coronavirus diagnosis, he released his family's results. Patch has the update.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — After testing positive for coronavirus, Anne Arundel County Councilman Andrew Pruski says his family tested negative. Pruski announced his diagnosis Monday. He released his family's results the next day.
The councilman represents District 4, which encompasses Odenton, Severn and Fort Meade. Pruski says he got his positive test result over the weekend.
"Leading up to the test I was generally asymptomatic and was not feeling key symptoms," Pruski said in a press release. "I am thankful that I chose to take a test out of the abundance of caution, so that I could protect myself, my family, and others."

"During the quarantine, I respectfully ask for people to respect the privacy of me and my family," Pruski said. "Thank you to everyone who has already showed support for me and my family. We will remain positive and work to continue to get through this pandemic."
The councilman says he is feeling well and expects to make a full recovery. Pruski added that he will continue his legislative duties.
The council has convened virtually since Maryland's coronavirus outbreak worsened in March. This will allow Pruski to continue his work without infecting fellow council members or potential audience members.
The next county council meeting is next Monday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. A full schedule and details on how to watch, listen and submit testimony is posted at this link.
