Snow Affects COVID-19 Tests, Vaccine Clinics In Anne Arundel County

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Monday's snowstorm disrupted coronavirus testing and vaccination in Anne Arundel County.

The Maryland Department of Health canceled its clinic at the Anne Arundel Medical Center. The agency also called off its operation at the corner of Bladen Street and Calvert Street in Annapolis.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health nixed its testing efforts at the Annapolis Exchange and Baymeadow. The organization additionally canceled its morning immunization appointments at Anne Arundel Community College.

These changes are only effective Monday. Leaders hope to return to their normal schedules on Tuesday. Officials noted, however, that the snow could alter Tuesday's schedule as well.

Authorities urged residents to check with their test or inoculation providers before going to their appointments.

Private practices make their own weather decisions, so locals should contact those facilities before heading out in the snow.

Residents can find updates from the Maryland Department of Health on its website and its Facebook page. The Anne Arundel County Department of Health will post its information online or on Facebook.

Northern Anne Arundel County could get 4 to 6 inches of snow. Everywhere south of Gambrills and Severna Park could see 6 to 8 inches. The latest forecast is available here.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools already canceled Monday classes. Annapolis similarly declared a snow emergency and asked locals to remove their cars from snow routes.
