Sobriety Checkpoint To Be Held Thursday Night In Annapolis

Drivers need to be sure they have a designated driver if they're out for drinks on Sept. 3, say police.

If your Annapolis Labor Day weekend plans include a night out for drinks, arrange for a designated sober driver or face jail time and a steep fine.

The Annapolis Police Department will conduct a DUI checkpoint on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 6 to and 10 p.m.

Officers will be checking drivers in the area of West Street and Amos Garrett Boulevard.

The penalties for a DUI or DWI in Maryland consist of potential jail time, fines, and a minimum of a 6-month license suspension.
