Stray Bullet Stops 4 Feet Above Sleeping Person

A man was chased by an armed suspect who reportedly fired several shots as they ran, striking a nearby house, say Anne Arundel County Police

A stray bullet fired at a man running from an armed suspect ended up lodged inside a nearby house, about four feet above a person who was asleep in the house, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Secluded Post Circle in Glen Burnie about 9:55 p.m. Aug. 8 for shots fired through the window of a residence. A 27-year-old man visiting family was walking in the 7900 block of Gentle Breeze Court when he was approached by a man armed with a semi-automatic handgun. The victim ran toward Secluded Post Circle while being chased by the armed suspect, woh fired multiple shots at the fleeing man.

One bullet traveled several hundred feet across the street and went through the front window of a residence in the 400 block of Secluded Post Circle. That round lodged in an interior wall in the residence about four feet above a person sleeping in the home.

Witnesses described hearing at least three to four gunshots and saw a two-tone black and grey Chevrolet Avalanche with chrome wheels occupied by two black men leaving the area. According to witnesses, a black man with dreadlocks was walking in the 7900 block of Gentle Breeze Court minutes before the shots were fired.

Police say the suspect was driving a mid-2000s Chevrolet Avalanche that is black and grey two-tone in color with chrome wheels.

He is described as a black man in his mid 20s, about 6 feet tall, thin build, dark complexion, with medium length dreadlocks hairstyle. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt, blue jeans and a blue bandana on his head.
