The American Institute of Architects Maryland Excellence awarded three students and one alum from AACC for their design work.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Three Anne Arundel Community College students and one AACC alumnus took home awards from the American Institute of Architects Maryland Excellence in Design Awards handed out Sept. 26. AACC was the only community college whose students received awards.

The awards are:

  • Honor Award for Hand Delineation: Mihail Maksic
  • Honor Award for Design: Mark Davis
  • Jurors Citation: Davis Owe
  • Peoples’ Choice Award: Mark Davis
  • Jurors Citation: Dan Lorenzana, AACC graduate enrolled in University of Maryland, College Park’s master’s program

The award program recognizes architects, building owners, contractors and architectural students for achievement in architectural design. Submissions in the student category were open to students enrolled in an architectural program in the 2018-2019 academic year. The student had to be the author of work produced in an academic setting. Submissions could be an actual or imagined project, which encouraged exploration and innovation.
