The victim tracked the location of the iPad and gave that information to Annapolis Police. Officers working with a police K-9 and handler located the suspect, Sheldon Tubaya, 61, of Annapolis, hiding in the woods in the unit block of Tucker Street.

Police say the stolen iPad and other property from several thefts from vehicles were found in a backpack with Tubaya. He was charged with three counts of theft, three counts of rogue and vagabond, three counts of fourth-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

He is being held on $10,000 bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.

Three other vehicles in the area were entered and money and a Garmin GPS unit were stolen. The GPS unit was also found in Tubaya’s backpack. Tubaya was also charged with theft of wedding band and engagement ring from a vehicle in the 100 block of Green Street that occurred between July 25 and July 26.

Numerous other vehicles on Forbes Street and Tucker Street appeared to have been entered, but their owners could not be contacted at the time. Detectives are still trying to identify the owners of property recovered from Tubaya.
