An autopsy determined that "sharp object injuries" were the cause of Skipwith's death, police said. Authorities have not said what type of weapon was used to harm Skipwith.

Officers were called to Medstar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday after Skipwith arrived at the hospital. Police say Skipwith had been at the Sidelines Sports Bar and Grill in the 100 block of Chesapeake Center Court in Glen Burnie earlier that night. After he left the bar, a fight occurred near the parking lot and Skipwith suffered trauma to the upper body.

Several witnesses told police the fight started in the parking lot of Sidelines but later moved to a condo development in the area. A crime scene was located at the condo complex where evidence was recovered and submitted for forensic examination.

Investigators say this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence.
