Teen Charged in Annapolis Stabbings, Search for Fugitive Suspect Ongoing
Eight suspects have been charged with severely stabbing two men in Annapolis last year, while another suspect is still on the loose.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis teenager was charged as an adult Thursday with attempted murder for allegedly taking part in a group attack of two men who were critically stabbed and had their car stolen almost a year ago. Orlando Evelio Gomez-Jimenez faces 19 charges ranging from attempted first-degree murder to armed robbery, assault and car theft, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
Officers from the Annapolis Police Department and Anne Arundel County Police Department were called to the 100 block of Hillsmere Drive on Oct. 23, 2016, where they found a man behind a group of stores suffering from severe trauma. A second man was found by police in the 700 block of Annapolis Neck Road, also suffering from stab wounds. Both victims were treated at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for life-threatening stab wounds.
As officers searched the area, a police canine unit found a suspect hiding in a wooded area near Annapolis Neck Road and Hillsmere Drive. Anne Arundel County police officers arrested Fermin Gomez Jimenez, 19, of Annapolis, who was charged with multiple crimes, including attempted first-degree murder and assault.
