A 15-year-old was charged by Annapolis Police with drug trafficking after officers found he had a loaded gun and heroin in his pockets.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A 15-year-old boy was charged by Annapolis Police with weapon and drug crimes after officers found he had a loaded gun and heroin in his pockets. The teen was detained by police Thursday night in the 1400 block of Tyler Avenue after someone reported suspected illegal drug sales in the area.
Officers told the teen to keep his hands out of his pockets while they talked to him, but police say he kept reaching for his right pants pocket. After officers restrained his hands, a loaded handgun was found in the boy's right pants pocket. When police searched the teen, they reportedly found cocaine and heroin in his pockets, along with more than $500 in cash.
The Annapolis teenager was charged with handgun violations and drug charges on a juvenile citation and released to a guardian.
