Teens Tote Machete, Shotguns Into Annapolis Cemetery

Three teenagers were arrested after tipsters called police to report that a rifle was carried into St. Anne's Cemetery

A machete, shotguns and other weapons were reportedly carried into an Annapolis cemetery Saturday night by teenagers, police say.

Residents in the area called Annapolis Police just before 7 p.m. to report three boys carrying a long bag that appeared to contain a rifle into St. Anne’s Cemetery at West Washington and Northwest streets.

Police found two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old, with two long gun bags nearby containing a rifle, two shotguns, three swords, a machete, and other property. One of the teens allegedly had alcohol and marijuana in his pockets.

The weapons were stolen from a home belonging to a relative of one of the teens, police say.

All three youths were charged with theft and released to their guardians.
