Third Eye Comics Moves To Roomier Site In Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Third Eye Comics has opened the doors of its new location, which doubles the shop's size, its owners say on Facebook. On Saturday the business welcomed shoppers at 209 Chinquapin Rnd Road; the former location at 2027 West Street closed on Friday.

The business website directs customers to turn right at Starbucks on West Streets and they're one block down the street next to Maryland Paints.

The new location has more free parking both in the front and in the rear lot. Along with the comics business, Third Eye Games moved to a new space next door to the comic shop.

The owners wrote on the Third Eye Comics website, "As society as a whole finds itself being more and more disconnected by the very technology that helps all of us connect — we are proud to be a real deal, physical, brick and mortar store that brings real deal, flesh and blood people together to talk comics, have fun, and experience the freakin’ wonderful and unique feeling of finding other people who share the same passions you do."

Fans of the store lined up for Saturday's grand opening specials. "It's not a store," Art Boorman, a special education teacher at Severna Park High School told the Capital-Gazette. "It's a community."

He slept in his car ahead of the new store's unveiling.

Relocating to the bigger building will let the business quadruple its selection, and allow it to add merchandise that hasn't been carried before. The owners hinted that they have "some top secret plans" for their old space.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 11AM - 9PM; Saturday, 11AM - 8PM; and Sunday 11AM - 6PM.
