The game features one team from the Atlantic Coast Conference and another from the American Athletic Conference.

Organizers canceled the bowl last year during the coronavirus pandemic. In 2019, the North Carolina Tar Heels defeated the Temple Owls 55-13 in front of 24,242 Military Bowl spectators.

The game was founded in 2008 as the EagleBank Bowl, and it was initially held at RFK stadium in Washington, D.C. The contest became the Military Bowl in 2010 and moved to Annapolis in 2013.

“It has been great to see fans fill the stadium for college football this fall and we can’t wait to welcome teams to the National Capital Region for a great Bowl Week,” stated Steve Beck, the president and executive director of the Military Bowl Foundation. “Gameday once again will be special with the Military Bowl Parade and Tailgate.”

The festivities begin with a 10 a.m. parade that starts at City Dock and ends at the stadium. This march will feature Medal of Honor awardees, the Budweiser Clydesdale horses, pageant winners and other local groups.

The bowl benefits the United Service Organizations. This nonprofit, also known as the USO, supports the military community.

Proceeds additionally help Patriot Point. This is the Military Bowl Foundation's organization for wounded, ill and injured servicemembers.

The match-up is presented by Peraton, which is a national security technology company.

More information on the game is posted at militarybowl.org.
