UPDATE: Inbound Lanes Open After Tanker Spill at Annapolis Intersection
A truck that crashed carrying heating oil had closed the intersection of Hillsmere Drive/Bay Ridge Road and Forest Drive.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — All inbound lanes of traffic are open in the area of Hillsmere Drive/Bay Ridge Road and Forest Drive, says the Annapolis Police Department, while one outbound lane is closed.
A truck carrying home heating oil crashed at the intersection, which closed about 11 a.m. while crews cleaned up the spill.

Crews have offloaded all fuel from the truck and it has been up-righted, police said on Facebook. Crews continue to work to clear the truck from the area.
Traffic was rerouted for a time through surrounding parking lots.

Emergency personnel contained the spill and secured the scene from other potential hazards. There are no reported injuries to the driver at this time.
The responding agencies included Annapolis Fire Department, Annapolis Police Department, Annapolis Office of Emergency Management and Annapolis Public Works. Additional resources have responded from the Maryland Department of the Environment, Anne Arundel County and the United States Naval Academy Fire Departments.
