Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Pot, Handgun in Vehicle: Police

Five Baltimore teens were arrested early Thursday on weapon, drug charges in Brooklyn area, say Anne Arundel County Police.

ANNAPOLIS, MD -- Five Baltimore teenagers are facing drug and firearms possession charges after their vehicle was pulled over shortly after midnight Wednesday in the Brooklyn area by Anne Arundel County police.

At 12:22 a.m. Thursday, officers were patrolling around Ritchie Highway and 8th Avenue when one officer spotted someone throwing trash out the window of their vehicle onto the highway, according to a police report.

The five teens were riding in the vehicle, and the police pulled it over and searched it, the police report said. They recovered 32 grams of marijuana, 28 suboxone strips and a loaded .45-caliber Springfield handgun.

  • Morgan Ashley Addison, 18, 1600 block of East Monument Street;
  • Ernest Lee Harmon IV, 18, 3400 block of Lyndale Avenue;
  • Travon Miguel Hartzog, 18, 2100 block of Ashburton Street;
  • Dashaye Ira-Shabrise McCoy, 18, 4800 block of Melborne Avenue;
  • A 17 year old juvenile male, 1100 block of Nanticoke Street.
