Mother, Son Die in Severna Park House Fire: Update
Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials say a woman and her 11-year-old son died in the burning home early Monday.

UPDATED at 1 p.m.
Authorities have identified the two victims of a fatal Severna Park house fire as Pauline Naylor, 44, and her son, William Burnapp III, 11.
The fire was reported in the 100 block of Benfield Road about 1:45 a.m. Monday.

On its Twitter feed, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department confirmed the two deaths. Firefighters had the blaze under control about 3 a.m.
Firefighters encountered heavy fire from the rear of the single-story, ranch house. Rescuers removed Naylor and Burnapp from the front bedroom of the house; both victims were pronounced dead on the scene.

The single-alarm fire was brought under control by 40 firefighters in about 30 minutes. There were no other occupants home at the time of the fire and no other injuries were reported, the department said.
Damage to the house is estimated at $250,000; the structure is a complete loss.
Investigators from the Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit are on the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
The victims are the county’s 11th and 12th fire fatalities of 2015, officials said.
