Vacant Home Burns in Parole

The Annapolis Fire Department contained the blaze to the home's attic.

Annapolis firefighters quickly doused a fire in the attic of a vacant home across the street from in Parole Monday afternoon.

Tony Spencer, Annapolis Fire Department public information officer, said no one was injured in the fire and that the fire marshal was on the scene investigating the one-alarm blaze.

Fire officials estimated the fire caused $20,000 worth of damage to the home.

Spencer said the call for a house fire at 33 Old Solomons Island Road came in at 2:50 p.m. and firefighters had the fire under control at 3:08 p.m.

He said it appears as if the fire originated in the attic of the two-story home.
