Veterans Day Events In and Around Annapolis
Patch rounds up a list of ways to celebrate Veterans Day this Friday.
Looking for a way to remember and honor those who serve? The following Veterans Day events are taking place in and around Annapolis this year.
The City of Annapolis and the Annapolis Fleet Reserve Club are hosting a ceremony to honor those who serve. The event will include remarks from Annapolis Mayor Josh Cohen, and the speaker is Anne Arundel County Councilman Jamie Benoit.
When: Friday 11 a.m.
Where: Memorial Circle in Downtown Annapolis
U.S. Naval Academy Band Veterans Day Concert
The U.S. Naval Academy Band’s special Veterans Day Concert will take place Friday Nov. 11 at Mahan Hall at 7:30 p.m.
The program will include songs like, Honor, Courage, Commitment by Stephen Melillo, Where the Stars and Stripes and Eagles Fly, by Aaron Tippen, and marches by John Philip Sousa according to the band’s website.

The public is invited to join Gov. Martin O'Malley at the Crownsville Cemetery for a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. The cemetery is at 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd.
According to its website, the 103-acre site opened in 1980 and has interred more than 15,200 Maryland veterans and their dependents. When fully developed, the site is expected to provide more than 38,500 burial plots.
