Weis Markets Recalls Ice Cream For Undeclared Egg Allergen
Weis Markets in Maryland and six other states have recalled a line of ice cream because the label didn't list an egg allergen.

MARYLAND — Weis Markets in Maryland, Virginia and five other states have recalled an ice cream product because the label doesn't list an egg allergen. On Thursday the grocery chain recalled its Weis Quality Banana Puddin Ice Cream (48 ounce) since a supplier error omitted the allergy notice. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the ice cream.
This product has been removed from sale. It was sold in 200 Weis Markets’ stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Delaware and West Virginia. There have been no reports of illness from customer’s consuming this product to date, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a news release.
The ice cream is packaged with a UPC of 041497-01305. All lot codes are affected. Customers who have purchased this product should discard it or return the recalled products to your store for a full refund.
