BREAKING: Maryland v. Hawaii NCAA March Madness Final

Maryland, the No. 5 seed in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament South Region, met No. 13 Hawaii on Sunday.

SPOKANE, WA — The University of Maryland Terrapins are in the Sweet Sixteen round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament thanks to an easy win over Hawaii Sunday night.

Maryland, the No. 5 seed in South region of March Madness NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, beat No. 13 Hawaii 73 to 60.

Tonight's win was much easier than Friday's nail-biter when Maryland narrowly beat South Dakota State 79 to 74.

In Maryland’s path as it tries to advance to the Final Four is No. 1 Kansas and No. 2 Villanova. Kansas ended the regular season ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press poll.

Hawaii upset No. 4 seed California in the first round with a 77-66 stomping. But the Hawaiians just didn't have the firepower Sunday to overcome Melo Tremble and his teammates.

Maryland next faces formidable Kansas on Thursday in the Sweet Sixteen round.
