What You Need to Know About Fall Festivities in Annapolis

Autumn is in full swing in Annapolis which means bright vibrant colors -- lots of orange -- pumpkins, corn mazes and all things spooky and Halloween-themed.
Check out these fall-themed events happening in and around Annapolis:
- Greenstreet Gardens Fall Festival: Stop by Greenstreet Gardens for haunted hayrides, a corn maze, kid-friendly activities and even costume contests. The festival is open on Saturdays and Sundays from now through Oct. 26. 391 West Bay Front Road, Lothian.
- Historic Hauntings Tours: Beginning at the Annapolis Museum, take a haunted house tour of Annapolis. walk through downtown and through the William Paca House -- after dark. The event runs on Fridays and Saturdays from now through Nov. 1. Tours begin at the Annapolis Museum, 99 Main Street.
- Back-to-Boat Shows: Boat enthusiasts should make some time in their calendars for these sailboat and powerboat shows -- the oldest and largest in the world. The sailboat show will continue through to Oct. 13. The powerboat show will run from Oct. 16 to 19. Both shows will be at the City Dock in Annapolis.
- Maryland Renaissance Festival: Go back in time and visit the 25-acre wooded ‘medieval village.’ Costumed actors await, ready to have real jousting matches and walk tightropes. Some of the delicious -- and not quite so medieval -- dishes available at the festival include smoked turkey legs, chocolate-covered cheesecake on a stick, Friar’s Fritters, shepherd’s pie and more. The festival is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from now through Oct. 19. The ‘medieval village’ is located at 1821 Crownsville Road, Annapolis.
- Art @ the Park 2014: Enjoy all the wonderful colors of fall and the cool weather at Quiet Waters Park with the 24th annual art festival, featuring original artwork, live music and more. Proceeds support Quiet Waters Park’s educational programs. The event takes place on Oct. 18 and 19. The park is located at 600 Quiet Waters Park Road, Annapolis.
