What's Open, Closed in Annapolis on Memorial Day 2015?

The holiday means some changes in bus service, and to city offices and schools.

City of Annapolis government offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day. Other services and mass transit will be affected by the holiday, as well.

Refuse and recycling will be affected. If Monday is the normal collection day, service will occur on Tuesday. If Tuesday is the normal collection day, service will take place on Wednesday.

There will be no yard waste collection, according to the city website.

Also, Annapolis Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule. You can find bus routes and schedules online.

Also, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools and central offices will be closed Monday.

The holiday also means changes to some Annapolis recreation facilities.

  • “Pip” Moyer Recreation Center (PMRC): There will be no open court use on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, at PMRC (a tournament will be taking place on those two days). The facility will be closed on Monday, May 25, for the Memorial Day holiday.
  • Stanton Community Center: The facility will be closed on Monday, May 25, for the Memorial Day holiday.
  • Truxtun Park Pool: Opens on Saturday, May 23; then open Sunday, May 24, and Monday, May 25. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Daily pool passes may be purchased at the pool. Season pool passes must be purchased at PMRC.
