What's The Worst Thing About Living In Maryland?

Insider compiled a list of the worst thing about living in each state. What's the worst thing about Maryland?

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Maryland has a diverse landscape of beaches, mountains, and cities, coupled with roughy 3,000 miles of Chesapeake Bay shoreline, which draws visitors from across the country and world. Baltimore and Annapolis are rife with colonial history, and the state's largest city is also a growing hub of amazing restaurants.

But no state is perfect (no matter how much you love it), and Maryland is no different. Insider came up with a list of the worst things about living in each state, with flaws ranging from minor ones like "too many hipsters," to major ones like "a high range of drug overdoses." Although Maryland deals with storms, flooding and opioid abuse, none of these flaws were considered the worst thing about living in the state.

The number one worst thing about living in Maryland is that driving is an ordeal, according to Insider. To make matters worse, Maryland commuters spend a week each year stuck in traffic, according to a study conducted by INRIX. Baltimore are drivers spent 7 percent of their time sitting in traffic. During the morning and evening commutes, area drivers spend 10 percent of that time stuck in congestion on roads into and out of the city. It's even worse for DC area drivers, who spent 11 percent of their time in traffic last year.
