Currently, the estimated value of Saturday’s jackpot is $415 million, but that could climb if more players buy tickets. That’s what happened in January when several record jackpots were reached and went unclaimed, before the ultimate prize was won.
There are no reports of any Maryland players winning the lesser $2 million and $1 million prizes from Wednesday's drawing. Check your tickets to be sure.

How much do you actually win?
You have two choices when you claim your prize: the full value paid in 30 installments over 29 years or the one-time lump sum that is smaller than the actual total.
Then there’s the taxes. The federal tax on lottery winnings is 25 percent, Calicchia said. Then, any extra income taxes like state or city would apply.
Financial experts say that if you can get more than a 3 or 4 percent return on an investment, the lump sum is actually the best way to go in the long-term.
How to play
Players pick five numbers from one to 69 and a sixth Powerball number, one through 26. Many people choose a Quick Pick ticket for random numbers. There are different levels of payouts, but to win the jackpot, tickets must match all five numbers plus the Powerball.
