Winter Weather Alert Due to Icy Driving Conditions

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the region until 3 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Communities impacted include Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Montgomery and Howard counties, as well as Ellicott City, Columbia and Annapolis. See the entire list.

Snow and sleet are expected to change into freezing rain by this afternoon, with ice forming on surfaces in the afternoon and evening, according to the NWS statement.

“Roads will be snow and ice covered through tonight,” according to the NWS. “Traveling will be dangerous.”

Temperatures are expected to rise through the afternoon and remain in the lower 30s this evening.
