Woman Arrested for Armed Robbery of Relative: Police

An Annapolis woman reportedly pulled a handgun on a family member who refused to give her money, police say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis woman wanted for armed robbery after allegedly pulling a handgun on a family member who refused to give her money is in custody.

Annapolis Police arrested Deborah Brown, 45, of Annapolis on Monday for an armed robbery that occurred Feb. 1 in the 1100 block of Madison Street.

According to police, in that robbery Brown asked a relative for money, and when the woman refused Brown reportedly snatched a wallet from the woman’s hand. The two struggled over the wallet and the relative eventually got it away from Brown with the help of another family member.

Authorities say Brown pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the woman, then ran away.

Officers received a tip Monday that Brown was in a home in the 1100 block of Frederick Douglass Street. When police tried to check the home for Brown they were refused entry.

A search warrant was obtained and when the home was entered, Brown was found inside.

Brown was wanted on four outstanding warrants, including one for the armed robbery, and three others for theft.

Brown is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $150,000 bond on the robbery charges.
