ANNAPOLIS, MD — A woman was charged recently in a second Annapolis homicide, police said.
Officers announced Monday that Monet Felicia Thompson, 50, was charged with murder in the 2024 killing of John Logan Thomas III, 48.
Authorities said Thompson was already in custody on charges stemming from a fatal shooting outside the Safeway on Forest Drive, which also involved her counselor. That shooting happened on Oct. 3, 2024.

The Annapolis Police Department said it was called Sept. 26, 2024, around 7:39 p.m. for a report of three shots fired inside the apartment building at 140 Georgetown Road. Neighbors reported seeing a female and male quickly leaving the area after the gunshots. A blue SUV was spotted departing the scene.
Officers said they were directed to the apartment believed to belong to Thompson.
Authorities said they were unsuccessful in trying to make contact at the door, so they entered the unlocked residence, given the multiple reports of gunshots at the apartment.
Inside apartment 12, police said they found Thomas on the living room floor, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the back of his head.
The Annapolis Fire Department pronounced Thomas dead on the scene, a press release said.
"Our commitment to keeping Annapolis safe is unwavering," Police Chief Edward Jackson said in the release. "Every arrest, every investigation, brings us closer to a community where all residents can live without fear. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the peace and security of our streets."
