Woman Thrown Down Stairs In Annapolis Robbery: Police

Two Annapolis men face robbery and assault charges for allegedly throwing a woman down her apartment stairs, police say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Two Annapolis men face robbery and assault charges for allegedly throwing a woman down her apartment stairs, police say. Residents reported hearing a woman screaming for help about 3:30 in the morning Thursday in the stairwell of an apartment building in the 1100 block of Madison Street.

Annapolis Police officers found the woman lying on the floor at the bottom of the stairwell. She said she was assaulted from behind in the stairwell, punched in the back and thrown down the stairs. The victim reported her wallet was stolen from her purse and the suspects fled the area.

Authorities say the woman suffered an ankle injury in the attack. Officers identified the two suspects in the robbery as Keithan Howard, 47, and Robert Williams, 52, both of Annapolis. Howard was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of drugs. Williams was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft, assault, reckless endangerment, and conspiracy to commit theft.

Howard is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
