Worker Locked In Freezer After Attempted Robbery In Downtown Annapolis: Police

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A suspect recently locked a worker in a walk-in freezer while trying to rob a business in downtown Annapolis, city police said.

The encounter happened Saturday around 1:22 a.m. at an undisclosed establishment in the 100 block of Main Street, officers said. Authorities spoke with the victim, who works at the business, upon arrival.

The victim reported that the suspect entered the premises and demanded money from the cash register and the safe, police said.

The suspect could not get into the safe or the register. That's when he locked the victim in the freezer and stole her purse, officers said.

The Annapolis Police Department said it could not find the suspect, who fled the area.
