Wrong-Way Driver Charged With Selling Heroin: Police

Two Glen Burnie men were charged with selling cocaine and heroin after a traffic stop.

A man reportedly driving the wrong way on a Glen Burnie street was arrested for selling heroin and cocaine, police say.

An Anne Arundel County Police officer saw the Nissan Maxima about 4 p.m. Wednesday driving eastbound in the westbound lanes on Furnace Branch Road E in Glen Burnie. As the officer pulled the vehicle over, he reportedly saw bags being thrown from the passenger side window.

Investigators later determined the jettisoned bags contained about 51 grams of cocaine, and 42 capsules containing heroin with a weight of about 19 grams.

Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested on drug trafficking charges. During a search of the car police seized a small amount of suspected marijuana, a fake soft drink containing four capsules of suspected heroin and a digital scale.

The Nissan Maxima was seized for possible asset forfeiture proceedings.

Police arrested Leonardo Gordilla Oviedo, 20, of Marley Avenue in Glen Burnie and Charles Edward Ayers, 25, of Sixth Street in Glen Burnie.

Both men were charged with possession with the intent to distribute, possession of CDS, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
