Wrong-Way Driver Hits Motorcycle, 2 Dead: Police
A man and a woman from Baltimore were killed when the motorcycle they were on was hit by a wrong-way driver in Annapolis, police say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD – A man and a woman from Baltimore were killed when the motorcycle they were on was hit by a wrong-way driver in Annapolis, Maryland State Police say. Troopers from the Annapolis Barrack were called to the crash just before 1 a.m. on eastbound U.S. Route 50 at Ridgely Avenue. Authorities say a Ford Expedition was westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Route 50 when it crashed into a motorcycle.
The two people on the motorcycle were declared dead at the scene. The victims were identified as Donald Tyner, 56, and Janell McDougald, 45, both of Baltimore.
The driver of the Ford Expedition was taken into custody at the scene and taken to the Annapolis Barrack for processing. State police are not releasing the SUV driver's identity until formal charges are filed.

As a result of the crash, U.S. Route 50 was shut down in both directions for several hours and traffic was diverted onto Rowe Boulevard at Bestgate Road. The road reopened shortly before 6 a.m.
