3 Arrests in Armed Mugging of Man Left Unconscious on Street

Two 19-year-olds and a 16-year-old, all from Annapolis, face multiple charges in the robbery of a pedestrian.

Three suspects, including one teen charged as an adult, have been arrested in a beating and robbery of a man who was left unconscious after walking on an Annapolis street.

Police were called Tuesday night to Anne Arundel Medical Center to meet with a man who reported several male suspects, some of whom he recently met, robbed him in the 1100 block of Frederick Douglass Street. When the victim got close to the men, one of them grabbed him around the neck and another used a handgun to hit him in the face.

The thieves took his wallet and shoes, kicked him in the ribs and fled the area. The victim became unconscious and when he came to he walked to an apartment in the area and then went to the hospital for treatment.

The suspects were identified as Wade Brown, 19, Demarcus Gross, 19, and Dudley Powell Jr., 16, all of Annapolis. All three were arrested on Thursday; police say Powell was charged as an adult.

Brown was charged with seven criminal charges relating to the robbery, Gross with 11, and Powell with eight. All three are being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on bonds.

In addition, while arresting the three, officers came into contact with Jaymarri Boykin, 19, of Severn and reportedly found him to be in possession of a handgun. Boykin was charged with three criminal charges relating to possession of the weapon.
