Accused Shoplifters Pull Knife On Walmart Employees: Police

Shoplifters allegedly pulled a knife on Walmart employees when they tried to stop them from leaving the Pasadena store, police say.

PASADENA, MD — Shoplifters allegedly pulled a knife on Walmart employees when they tried to stop them from leaving the store with merchandise they hadn't paid for, according to Anne Arundel County Police. The confrontation happened at the store located at 8107 Governor Ritchie Highway in Pasadena.

Store employees told police a man and a woman were seen concealing items and then attempted to leave the business without paying. When Walmart staffers approached the pair, police say one of the thieves took out a knife and they ran from the store.

Several officers, including K-9, searched the area and located both of the accused thieves, who were subsequently arrested.

Police charged both Davon Ricardo Battle, 31, of the 2900 block of West Lanvale Street of Baltimore, and Martieria Latrice McDaniels, 26, of the 1400 block of Stonewood Road in Baltimore, with first-degree assault and theft.
