PASADENA, MD — Kelley Ann Haley, a 45-year-old woman who previously served as the treasurer of a youth sports club, is accused of stealing over $240,000.
The funds were pulled from the Pasadena Buccaneers Athletic Club, a volunteer-driven youth sports organization. In total, authorities said Haley withdrew over $242,500 from the group's account.
Haley has been charged with a theft scheme of over $100,000, theft of more than $100,000 and two counts of embezzlement and misappropriation of funds.
An investigation by the Anne Arundel County Police Department revealed the thefts took place between January 2019 and March 2025.
Police said in a release that Haley used debit cards tied to the club's financial accounts, withdrawing hundreds of thousands through ATMs.
The department's investigation into Haley dates back to March, when the club president reported Haley had deliberately altered the organization's financial records to hide the transactions.
The Pasadena Buccaneers Athletic Club issued a statement on the latest development, noting the group would continue to operate as normal.
"We want to reassure you that our organization operates with strong oversight, clear processes, and a commitment to accountability at all levels," reads the release.
"The safety, well-being, and trust of our athletes and families remain our top priorities."
Court records show a July 7 trial date has been scheduled in the case.
