Pasadena Man Dies After Motorized Scooter Crash: Police

Anne Arundel County Police said the fatal crash took place Monday morning and involved a motorized scooter.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A crash involving a motorized scooter proved fatal Tuesday after a Pasadena man was pronounced dead, police said.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department identified the 39-year-old man on Wednesday as Robert Louis Tuite, who was driving a 2026 Zhejiang motor scooter when the fatal crash occurred.

Authorities said the collision was reported Monday around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Fort Smallwood and Hilltop roads.

Preliminary findings released by the department state Tuite was traveling northbound on Fort Smallwood Road when he collided with the passenger side of a 2016 Mazda 6.

The 17-year-old girl driving the Mazda was making a left turn onto Hilltop Road from the southbound lanes on Fort Smallwood Road when the fatal incident unfolded, according to police.

Tuite was pronounced dead one day after the crash. The Glen Burnie teen suffered no injuries.

Officials have not said whether charges will be filed in the case.

An investigation remains ongoing.
