Football
Last Thursday, Old Mill powered its way to the top of the county standings. The Patriots , Arundel High, . Running back Rob Chesson stole the show with a 203 yards and five touchdown performance.
In a battle of what will likely be the third best football team in the county, South River survived Severna Park, 33-28. Quarterback Connor Cox's gaudy numbers (358 yards and five touchdowns) helped propell the Seahawks past Severna Park.
On Friday, Arundel will look to rebound against the struggling Bruins of Broadneck High. Broadneck, who won in dramatic fashion over Annapolis last week, of the state playoffs late year. Arundel will have a bit of revenge on the mind, while the Bruins try to salvage their season with a late push.

Boys Soccer
Broadneck hit for a season-high three goals facing Annapolis on Tuesday. Senior Loic Barret tallied twice for the Bruins, who won 3-1.
Barret and company will need to be at their best on Thursday, when Anne Arundel County powers Broadneck and Severna Park meet up in a rivalry game. Both teams enter undefeated, with the Bruins holding an edge due to the Falcons drawing with North County earlier this season. With only two more county games after Thursday, the winner will likely be the county champion.

The Bruins defense, , has allowed only one goal to county opponents this season.
Girls Soccer
Folks plan on attending the Broadneck and Severna Park boy's soccer game should show up early, as both girls enter Thursday's contest undefeated too.
The Lady Bruins squeaked by Annapolis on Tuesday, thanks to a Sammy Dean penalty kick. On the other hand, two goals from Kendall Kosman were enough for the Lady Falcons to advance past Southern.
The winner here is the likely county champion this season, as well.
Volleyball
continued its dominance of Anne Arundel County, defeated Meade High, 3-0. The Lady Wildcats continue to be led by Lindsay and Ashlyn Tapley. Cassie Miller also played well in the victory over the Lady Mustangs.
Thursday will pit two of the county's better volleyball teams against each other as Severna Park travels to Broadneck.
Field Hockey
The South River girls field hockey team remains undefeated in county play after topping Northeast 7-0 on Tuesday. Seven different Lady Seahawk players scored in the victory.
Annapolis High had its seven-game winning streak snapped by Broadneck, 4-1, in a match up of two of the county's better field hockey teams.
