ATV Crash, Truck Accident, Assault All Require Medevac
The state police medevac helicopter was called out to Davidsonville, Harwood and Lothian for three separate and serious accidents.
EDGEWATER-DAVIDSONVILLE, MD -- Anne Arundel County emergency responders were dispatched to Davidsonville, Lothian and Hardwood this past weekend for three emergency calls, all of which required transportation by Maryland State Police medevac helicopter.
On June 7, police officers responded to a call for two teens injured while riding ATVs at 123 Three Rivers Rd, Harwood. Witnesses reported that the ATV flipped and the two females were thrown. A 17-year-old began having seizures after landing on the ground.
According to Captain Russ Davies with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, the 17-year-old passenger was flown by Maryland State Police medevac helicopter to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with injuries that were serious but not believed to be life-threatening. The 14-year-old female driver of the ATV was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor injuries.

Late Saturday night on June 8 emergency responders were dispatched to 518 West Bay Front Rd. in Lothian for a report of an injured person. Upon arriving, firefighters discovered a 58-year-old male who reported he had been assaulted at a different location. Witnesses reported that he had been dropped off, but the man was disoriented. He was transported by Maryland State Police medevac helicopter to the trauma center at UM Prince George’s Hospital Center with injuries that were serious but not believed life-threatening.
On June 9, emergency responders arrived at Patuxent River Road near Bob Bradshaw Way in Davidsonville for a single-victim car accident. A 17-year-old female driver of a pickup truck was trapped and had to be extricated after her vehicle hit a tree. She was flown by Maryland State Police medevac helicopter to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with injuries that were serious but not believed life-threatening.
