Candlelight Vigil Held July 2 For Boating Accident Victims
Tevin Calhoun of Pasadena and Mark Vetock of Glen Burnie went missing while crabbing. A candlelight vigil will be held July 2 at 8:30 p.m.
PASADENA, MD -- Two men who went missing while crabbing in the Stoney Creek area over the weekend were found by the Coast Guard and Maryland Natural Resources Police July 1. At 8:30 p.m. July 2, their family and friends will hold a candlelight vigil for them at Tick Neck Park, 7750 Edwin Raynor Blvd., Pasadena.
According to a Facebook post, Mike Franz contacted the Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region’s command center June 29 to say that he had found a debris in the water 300 yards from the Brandon Shores Power Plant. The debris included empty beer cans, a cooler with an ID inside, a throwable flotation device and a gas can that seemed to have come off of a boat. Searchers hit the water in boats and a helicopter and eventually found two men's bodies.
Authorities confirmed that 27-year-old Tevin Calhoun of Pasadena and 27-year-old Mark Vetock of Glen Burnie were the missing men. The two were friends and Calhoun was a new father while Vetock had recently gotten married. Vetock's wife Lindsey told WJAZ that her husband and Calhoun went out in their 14-foot Jon boat Saturday afternoon, headed for Dobbins Island.

Krystle Sanders, who shares an 11-month-old son Jordan with Calhoun, shared her sorrow on Facebook, too.
"My heart is broken. You were an amazing father, friend, a beautiful old soul. There isn’t one person I could name that would have anything bad to say about you. You taught me so much about life things I would of never learned without you. You tried your best to guide me and be a better person and I will forever be grateful. You gave me the best gift of all our son ... Watch over our son. I will never be able to give him the guidance you would have but I promise I will try my best. I have
your family and you may not be here physical but your soul is forever with us and we will never let your memory die," she posted.
During the search, Vetock clung to hope that her husband and his friend would be found.
"Mark and Tevin are still out there, they are together, no matter what happened Mark would never leave Tevin, and Tevin would never leave Mark. They are both loving, caring men who would give the world to help someone. They are wearing their life jackets holding onto each other floating while Mark keeps going through his plethora of dad jokes while thinking of new ones to keep their spirits up. They are both fighters and they will make it home," she posted on Facebook.
A GoFundMe page has been established to help with Calhoun's funeral expenses.
