Cars Robbed, Bullet Hits Home In Pasadena: Police Report

A man stole IDS, credit cards and jewelry from Pasadena cars overnight, police say. In other news, a bullet struck a local home.

PASADENA, MD — Police arrested a man accused of breaking into several Pasadena cars early Monday morning. The arrested Pasadena man, Robert William Smith, is 40.

The suspect suspiciously tampered with cars near Middleton Way and Wolsey Court, police say. Authorities arrived around 4:20 a.m. and found Smith. Police say he matched the suspect's description and was positively identified by a witness.

Police found IDs, credit cards, cash and jewelry in Smith's backpack. The credit cards belong to several people, police say.

Smith faces 18 charges, all of which are misdemeanors. Nine of those counts allege theft, with each robbery worth less than $100. The remaining nine accuse Smith of rogue and vagabond, a frequently-used charge relating to breaking and entering cars.

Smith was released on recognizance. Court documents do not yet list his trial date.

Anybody who believes they may have been a victim of Monday's robbery should call the Anne Arundel County Police Department at (410) 222-6145.

In a separate instance, a bullet damaged a Pasadena home. The homeowner called police to the 8000 block of Mansion House Crossing just after 6 p.m. Friday.

The resident noticed a bullet hole in an upstairs bedroom window. They found the bullet lodged in a plastic container in the closet.

The damage happened between July 20 and Aug. 20, according to police. Nobody was hurt.
