Magothy Cooperative Preschool is having Open Houses for prospective parents and interested community members on January 18th at 6:30pm and on January 29th from 4-6pm. This is an opportunity to meet with our teachers, parents and director.
You will be able to see our four Spaces for Learning, including the Inspiration & Refection Room, Imagination & Creation Room, Outdoor Clasroom and Music & Movement Room. You will learn about our enriched hands-on academic program. We have excellent teacher to child ratios, rates and program offerings.
Magothy Cooperative Preschool has been operating since 1974 as a non-profit, parent operated cooperative preschool. The classroom and grounds are located adjacent to the historic site of the oldest Methodist Church in Maryland. The preschool is certified through the Maryland Department of Education as a non-public school and as an early childhood development center. Magothy Cooperative Preschool is a certified Maryland Green School through MAEOE.
Magothy Cooperative Preschool seeks to provide our students a stimulating child-directed environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, self-expression & socialization. The result is a nurtured well-rounded and independent child who has enthusiasm for learning and a positive attitude towards themselves and the world around them. We integrate environmental education into all of our subjects and promote interaction with the natural world as part of our curriculum and operation.

A preschool program is your child’s first step into the academic world. Our school is an excellent bridge between home and elementary school since your child is learning with their parents’ involvement. Subsequently, the cooperative is an excellent way to overcome separation anxiety for both the child and parent. Your child will have the opportunity to express themselves through art, music and academics as they explore our two spacious classrooms with various independent learning centers.
