Recently we had a case where a Mom and her young child was on the street living in a car. We knew that AAC had limited shelters and assistance but we were floored when we contact AACSS for assistance with this case. The young lady was not only unhelpful but was also very judgemental of how this Mom became in this situation. Needless to say, we had to call PGC (from a church contact) to assist this Mom and her child out of the cold.
We love living and helping people who live in AAC but there needs to be some sort of compassion and connection with people/families who are trying to make their way back into society.
