Family Rallies Around Removed Athletic Director

Supporters of the removed athletic director are planning another rally Wednesday night at the Board of Education meeting in Annapolis.

Chip Snyder wasn’t at the Anne Arundel County Council meeting Tuesday night, but his family was, and if he is not reinstated as the athletic director at .

Snyder’s brothers, nephew and wife were present at the meeting Tuesday evening to make sure the council members were aware of the situation at Chesapeake High School. pending an investigation into unsafe student behavior at a wrestling tournament in December.

Holly Snyder, Chip's wife, and Matt Snyder, Chip's brother, addressed the council and . Chip’s father, Edward Snyder, spoke fondly of his son moments before the council meeting began.

“Chip does almost as much outside the school as he does in the school,” said Edward Snyder, who flew in from Florida to be with the family. “Every time I come up here he is definitely involved doing something. I’ve helped him line fields, I’ve been up in the booth spotting the football—he gets the whole family involved. To Chip, Chesapeake High School is family just like I am family. I know I am biased, but you’ll never find another person like him.”

The rest of Snyder family sat in the meeting to show support for the former athletic director. They are planning another rally of support Wednesday night at the Board of Education meeting, which takes place in Annapolis at the administrative building located at 2644 Riva Rd.
