Funding Available To Emergency Shelters, Food Programs
Anne Arundel County will receive $95,242 in funding through Phase 37 and $72,333 from Phase CARES to support these emergency programs.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Anne Arundel County will receive $95,242 in funding through Phase 37 and $72,333 from Phase CARES to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.
A local board comprised of Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services, American Red Cross, United Way, ACDS, Mental Health Agency and others will determine how the funds awarded to the county are to be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies in the area.
Under the terms of the grant from the national board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must:

- Be private voluntary nonprofits or units of government,
- Be eligible to receive federal funds,
- Have an accounting system,
- Practice nondiscrimination,
- Have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs,
- If they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board.
Public or private voluntary agencies interested in applying for emergency food and shelter program funds must contact Justin Bieler at justin.bieler@maryland.gov for an application. Qualifying agencies are urged to apply.
