Girls Cited as Rogues for Edgewater Car Thefts: Police

Anne Arundel County Police say two girls were tampering with vehicles in driveways; a resident called police early Thursday.

An Edgewater resident who alerted police to two girls possibly tampering with vehicles helped Anne Arundel County Police catch the suspects in a car with burglary equipment.

Police received a call about 2:30 a.m. Thursday from a resident in the area of Glenarm Road in Edgewater about possible thefts from a vehicle. The vigilant resident saw two girls walking in and out of driveways tampering with vehicles.

Officers searching the area stopped a suspicious vehicle and found two teenagers matching the description of the suspects. The witness went to the scene and identified the girls as the ones seen tampering with vehicles.

When officers searched the girls’ vehicle they reportedly found several pairs of black gloves, along with dark clothing and other burglary tools.

The girls were cited as juveniles for theft, and rogue and vagabond, police say.
