Heroin Dealer Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison

Damian Cook of Annapolis, already a convicted felon, was sentenced for drug and firearms charges after a raid on a Crofton apartment.

An Annapolis felon convicted of selling heroin was sentenced to 18 years in jail Monday, according to prosecutors.

Damian Demont Cook, 32, of Annapolis, was sentenced for possession with the intent to distribute heroin, and a firearms charge. Cook was sentenced in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court by Judge J. Michael Wachs.

“Heroin dealers must go to jail,” said Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney Wes Adams in a news release. “We continue to seek the strongest penalties possible for those selling drugs in our county, especially as repeat offenders. I appreciate Judge Wachs recognizing the menace that this defendant presents to our community and the outstanding interagency cooperation amongst the DEA, Sherriff’s Office, Anne Arundel County Police, and the Annapolis Police Department.”
