Holiday Light Display Brightens Dead-End Road In Pasadena

The Mullens spend a few weeks following Thanksgiving designing and putting together their annual holiday light display in Pasadena.

PASADENA, MD — Down a dead-end road in Pasadena is a brilliantly bright shining Christmas light display put together by an avid mom who stuns many people with what she does. Paul Mullen shared with Patch that his mom Dottie Mullen has always decorated for the holidays both inside the house and outdoors.

"When I lived at home, I used to do a lot of it and even came back home a few years to help out. Instead of cutting back, she has added quite a bit more lights and yard decorations over the years. My dad Jeff helps her out now, but she is the driving force with the master plan every year," Mullen told Patch. "She is a runner, so she has as much energy as she always has and goes running 10-15 miles or more a week at times."

The entire process begins Thanksgiving weekend and takes a couple of weeks to complete. This dedication to a holiday display has carried on to the next generation, too, Mullen said.

"I continue the same traditions at my house with my family with lots of lights, decorations and even my grandfather's vintage train garden," he said.

Check out the Mullen's holiday light display on Tyndswall Place in Pasadena after dark through the holidays.
