Hospice of the Chesapeake announces new board members

Several prominent members of the community recently were appointed to the boards of directors of Hospice of the Chesapeake and its Foundation.

Chris Fedde and Brian Hahn are the newest members of the Hospice of the Chesapeake Inc., Board.

Fedde is a veteran cybersecurity executive who founded Hexis Cyber Solutions and led SafeNet, Inc. and Bandura Cyber, Inc., building SafeNet's presence across the U.S. government defense and intelligence communities. Also serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Partners In Care of Maryland, Inc., he brings to Hospice of the Chesapeake seasoned executive leadership and broad nonprofit and corporate board experience.

Hahn was born and raised in Maryland and has a successful career in the high-tech industry, holding many individual, management and executive management positions for over 43 years. Along with his experience in federal business leadership, he brings to the organization nonprofit board governance and is Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for Partners In Care of Maryland, Inc.

Dana Bustin, Tim McDonough, David Morauer, Rhosheeda Proctor, Gail Sanders and Dr. John Weigel have joined the Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation Board.

Bustin is the owner and vice president of Patuxent Printing, a full-service printing and marketing company in Owings, Maryland. As a leader within the Calvert County Chamber of Commerce, she brings deep community connections and marketing expertise to Hospice of the Chesapeake, having already served on the Boots & Bling event committee to raise funds and awareness for the organization.

McDonough serves as the board's vice chair. He is the owner of TM Designs & Associates, a full-service interior design firm, with a career background in Capitol Hill legislative work. He brings more than two decades of hands-on Hospice of the Chesapeake experience to the board, having served on its boards, chaired galas and helped design the Rebecca Fortney Inpatient Care Center and, most recently, the Center for Hope & Healing on the John & Cathy Belcher Campus.

Morauer is a Maryland-based real estate developer, investor and partner overseeing a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate and family business interests. He brings a personal connection to hospice care. Having witnessed the compassion his family received during his mother's battle with Alzheimer's, he seeks to ensure that others throughout the community have access to the same compassionate care.

Proctor is the employee relations and talent acquisition director for Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative and has more than a decade of experience in strategic human resource management. She served on the board of the former Hospice of Charles County and brings that same passion for community advocacy to this board.

Sanders is retired as assistant vice president of business development at Tower Federal Credit Union with a career spanning education, marketing and senior nonprofit leadership. She brings extensive nonprofit board experience, having served on 16 boards and received numerous community service awards.

Weigel is a retired internal medicine physician who spent decades practicing at Calvert Internal Medicine and holds board certifications in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. He brings direct hospice governance experience, having served on the Calvert Hospice Board of Directors and the Calvert County Advisory Committee to Hospice of the Chesapeake, along with a strong record of medical and community volunteerism.

The organization is honored to welcome these new board members in support of its mission.

Headquartered in Pasadena, Maryland, with local offices in each county it serves, the organization is the largest independent nonprofit hospice in the state of Maryland. It provides hospice, supportive and grief care services to residents of Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles and Prince George's counties.
